Normally I would write a post about verse that te Holy Spirit pressed upon my heart and then I will show you ways how I apply that specific Bibblical principle in my life
This post is going to be different in a way. This post is going to all about a personal experience that happens to me this month and how amazing it is when you make yourself available for God to use. How beneficial it could be to other people.
I consider myself somewhat as a youth leader. I do believe that God has called me do work with teenagers and to show them there is true power in the word of God. And to show them that serving God is the greatest experience ever and not as boring as it sometimes appear to be.
I few weeks ago a family member, who is also a certified counselor contacted me about one of her patients who just finished high school and struggled with a few stuff. I do not want to go into details but it is intense.
She asked me to have a session with him. I told her I am not qualified in a shape, form or size to do professional counseling, but what I can do is play to my strengths. My strengths is being a friend, listening to people and talk enthusiastically about Jesus. Anything in that ball park. And that is precisely what I did. I just had a normal talk with him as I would with anyone I know and with the help of the Holy Spitit I slowly guided the conversation to what was bothering Him and how we can use the word of God to overcome His problems.
It was actually an amazing hour. I was there to be used for God, but I come out of that session as refreshed as I would ever be. This reminds me of a scripture. Proverbs 11:25 NLT:
The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.
A week after the session I had with my friend he showed an amazing recovery. He opened up more and actually said that he wants to give his life to Jesus. Isn’t that amazing?
Obvisouly I did nothing extraordinary, I was just that little something he needed to have his life turned around. My aunt who is the counselor obvisouly did most of the work and God did everything, so I give credit to them, because they deserve it. I am just glad I could play a small role in the bigger picture. I know in my heart that he will be cured from everything that has been bothering him.
