Hi fam. How are you? I have 17 followers on Life and Faith. I have never in my life thought I will write devotional pieces to 17 people. For me, that is a big deal. In my heart I know it’s the beginning.
Recently, I was at an award ceremony. It was beautiful and great to see how everyone received a reward for all their hard work in the midst of the most difficult times of the world.
While I was there the Holy Spirit reminded me of a verse that Paul wrote to the church in Corinthians. 1 Corinthians 9: 24 – 27
24 – Do you not know that those who run a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it
25 – And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown
26 – Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air
27 – But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
After the ceremony, my spirit was so full of Gods fire. I could not contain my excitement, because I knew that everything I do for Jesus is going to ensure me victory.
Today, I was saddened by the news that my grandfather passed away. He is the greatest example of what I have to say. He was married for 65 years. He served in the same church for 40 years. He always followed Jesus and he always served people. He ran the race in such a way to receive the imperishable crown. I could say thank you for Jesus for having such a great example. I will strive to run my race with great passion, just like my granddaddy.
