Spiritual Warfare

Who are we without Jesus? I cannot start a post without acknowledging the goodness of Jesus. He always sustains us en keep us. He is our rock, salvation and fortress. Jesus protects us, and always have our best interest us heart. Jesus reigns forevermore. From beginning to the end. The alpha and omega, beginning and end.

This week I would like to discuss Spiritual warfare and the importance of it.

As you may remember, my verse of the day on Saturday was Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle with flesh and blood, but against rulers and principalities of darkness.

Rulers and principalities of darkness? Really my guy, sounds like something out of a fairy tale, doesn’t it? The Spiritual realm is more real than you who reads this posts. We cannot see it with our natural eye. Angels and demons are constantly on the move in the spiritual realm. This is truth and biblical.

But, where does this leave us? Did you know that we carry the power to control what is happening in the spiritual realm? The same power that raised Jesus from the grave resides within you. That is some powerful stuff. I read a devotional this morning that talked about the movie 300. 300 Spartans took on a whole Persian army.

That is where we should be as Christians warriors. Never bending the knee, refusing to give in, refusing to stop. Fighting and fighting, pushing and pushing.

Spiritual warfare is more crucial as ever in today’s life. People are losing their houses and jobs. The church is being prosecuted and suicide rates are at a high. Depression and anxiety within the youth is as high as ever. This is truth, and we have the power to push back.

You who reads this may have some of these issues yourself. Good news though, you have the power to take back what the enemy has stolen. The enemy is under our feet. He is cunning and evil, but we serve a God who is more powerful than the evil one. How do we do this whole warfare you ask? I am going to give pointers on what helped me these past years.

  1. A heart of worship. Always worship God at all times. In your car, as you walk. Put on some praise music and give glory to God.
  2. Praying in tongues. Whether you believe praying in tongues or not, this is real and biblical. Pray in tongues when you wake up. Start of with a 5 minutes each day and increase as you get spiritually fit.
  3. Read and declare the Word of God. As important as tongues is, this is as important. Stand on the word of God. Declare scriptures into your life. Speak life at all times and in everything.

Common Christian, I would like to encourage you to take hold of your life. Yes, God is control, but we have an equal responsibility for our own life. Stand up and step on the enemies feet. The power is in your hands

Jesus, You are King of Kings and Lord if Lords. There are no one like You Jesus. Today, I take a conscious decision to take control of my life. I believe that the spiritual realm is more real the physical. I declare through the power of the Holy Spirit that I am blessed and highly favored. I believe that great things are heading my way. I rebuke all evil that is standing in my way. I am a warrior of God. I believe and seal it by Your blood. Amen

  1. This is a wonderful article and I wish that every believer should understand and realize that we are engaged in spiritual battle. The bible said in 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

While the above verses are so yet the devil is inflicting terrible injury on members of the church of Christ. Recently the Holy Spirit made me to understand that the reason is that the devil is succeeding in causing members of the churches to be defiled.

It is so because when we get defiled by iniquity, the Holy Spirit will leave us, and we become targets of the devil. See what happened in Zechariah 3: 1-4 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him.

And the LORD said to Satan, “The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?” Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel.

Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.”
When we get defiled, we get clothed with filthy garment as Joshua the high priest and will never be effective in spiritual warfare as the devil has a legal ground to resist or oppose us.

    1. Amen. Truth. And that is where the grace of Jesus comes into the frame. True repentance can take away any form of defilement and that brings us back into rebuking satan with the power of the Holy Spirit.
