Like most of my blogs that I am writing, I am talking to myself. Today I would like to discuss with you the topic of big dreams, big goals and reaching for the stars no matter what. Psalms 20:4
May He grant you according to your heart’s desire and fulfill your life plans.
Have you ever fantasize doing something great? Like being a doctor and saving someone’s life or standing in front of millions of people and sing or doing something great on the sport field and end up winning that shining trophy. Even dreaming about signing that big contract as a businessman. Have you ever considered for a brief moment that the fantasy is actually what God wants for our lives? To be honest, I haven’t considered since now that God actually wants that for me.
I think we can’t imagine we deserve that. Could be because of sin, or because we try to be humble. Whatever it may be, consider for a brief moment that what God wants for my life. I am going to be a bit of a cliché and mention this verse. Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts and plans I have for you, says the Lord, Thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.
God wants us to dream big. I think God desires greatness for our life. Do not let anyone hold you back. Do not hold yourself back. Chase big dreams. That is God’s wish for your life. I guess it’s easy for me to sit behind a keyboard and say this, but how do I actually get from where I am to where those big dreams. Well here is where the famous Habakkuk verse comes in. Habakkuk 2:2-3
2: And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by.
3: For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint. Thought it tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day
Let’s get practical according to the verse in Habakkuk. I am going to give advice, and I am going to do the same. Write down 5 goals or dreams you trust God for. But I think it’s important to first meditate and listen to what the Holy Spirit says in your heart you have to write down. We cannot write any 5 random sentences down. If it does not agree with God’s plans for our lives then the chances are slim that it will manifest in your life.
Okay go, write your 5 goals. I also want you to write the following verse above your 5 goals. 1 Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him”
Put that piece of paper in your wallet. Carry it with you wherever you go. Pray over it whenever you have the chance.
I dare you to dream big, in fact I double dare you. I promise you that God wants to grant those dreams. We are His children, and He is our loving father; He wants the best for us. Dream big, show resiliency and see the greatness that will be heading your way.
I wrote down six (my bad). The possibilities are endless.
